Significant rise in number of solicitors struck off, as tribunal faces ever more complex cases - Legal Futures

I know we keep banging on about this, but a 35% rise in solicitors being struck off really is a poor record.

The fact that the 76 strike offs were for "...the result of various forms of misconduct, including criminal convictions, overcharging clients or misappropriating their money, or failing to discharge their duties “honestly and reliably” is bad enough, but a 36% increase in suspensions and a 200% increase on restrictions on practising certificates is truly alarming.
