“If the defendant, as it does, claims the right to retain all of the money received by it for the claimant’s costs and disbursements, then it must render a complete and final bill which includes them.”
A most welcome decision from Master Leonard in the Senior Courts Costs Office. If a solicitor is retaining money in respect of fees, even where part of those fees have been met by an opponent, you are entitled to a final bill containing all costs and disbursements, so that you can see how the part payable by you is calculated.
