Eddie Quinn -v- Fletchers Solicitors : refund of £1,319.55 obtained for the client following 2016 accident claim

Eddie was involved in a road traffic accident on 6th October 2016 when his motorcycle was hit by a car, leaving him with various leg, knee and back injuries. He instructed Fletchers Solicitors of Southport the following day, who dealt with the claim under the MOJ portal for low value road traffic accident claims. The claim was submitted to the portal on 19th October 2016 and the other driver's insurers admitted liability for the accident on 9th November 2016. Following a medical report the claim was settled on 21st March 2017 with compensation being agreed in the sum of £3,700. From that the solicitors deducted £1,125 in respect of legal fees.

We took the case on and following an assessment in the High Court in Sheffield under the Solicitors Act 1974 were able to secure a refund for Eddie of £1,319.55 including interest, along with his costs of the proceedings.
